One year ago today

We were blessed with a family trip to Hawaii.
(June 2025)

And the family made sure that I visited a quilt shop.

Moana Quilts
(moana meaning ocean, sea, a wide expanse of water;
and this little shop was just outside our hotel
and setting right along the beach/ocean.

This shop was filled with Hawaiian handmade quilts.
~
What did I come home with?

I picked the orange and white Pineapple quilt.

The Hawaiian Pineapple represents
~
Hospitality, warmth, friendship, and the spirit of aloha.

My husband picked for me the blue quilt.

This quilt represents...

Hibiscus (State Flower): The native yellow hibiscus (Maʻo hau hele) is the official state flower. Various hybrids in red, pink, and white are common.

Plumeria: Extremely popular, sweet-scented flowers used in leis, often found in white, yellow, and pink.

Honu (Sea Turtle): Represents good luck, endurance, and longevity, acting as                         a aumakua (guardian spirit).

Ti Leaves (Lau Ti): Believed to bring positive energy, peace, and protection from evil spirits, often used in lei.

Not only were there handmade quilts...the many quilt shops I visited
were filled with dolls with handmade Hawaiian clothing.

I passed by this little shop daily and never tired
of looking inside at all the quilts and crafts.
